Bell-Fruit Games has been focused on churning out physical slot machines for the European market since the 1960’s, and with Jungle Falls (published on the Inspired Gaming platform) they’re finally dipping their toe into online slot waters. It’s about time perhaps, but they’re gonna have to up their game several notches to compete with the modern presentation players expect in this day and age.

Jungle Falls plays out on a 6x8 waterfall grid where 5 to 18+ matching symbols in a cluster is a win. A top reel provides dropping wilds and cash coins, while animal modifiers can trigger at random times to keep the cascading wins going. This leads to 1 of 2 cascading bonus trail coin collect modifiers, and the bonus round saves the day with unlimited progressive multiplier action.

Jungle Falls Slot Features

All winning clusters are removed from the waterfall grid via the Cascading Wins feature. There is a top reel, directly above the waterfall, where empty positions or special symbols slide in from right to left on each spin. These special symbols drop down on the grid whenever an opening occurs directly below, and they work as follows:

• Coins - come with a total stake multiplier value (2x to 10x), and these symbols will work their way down to the bottom of the grid as empty positions are created below them. When they reach the bottom, the cash prize is paid and they fall off.
• Wilds behave in a similar manner, working their way down while stepping in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning clusters.

On the left-hand side, you’ll see a wooden bonus trail with upward-pointing arrow signs at the bottom. Each winning cascade light up the trail, starting from the bottom, and you need 3 or 5 cascades in a row, respectively, to trigger the following features:

• Rapid Run (tier 3) - All coins on the grid drop down 1 position, and you might also get more coins added to the waterfall grid.
• Jungle Falls (tier 5) - Shakes the whole grid, making all coins present on both the top reel and in the waterfall grid drop all the way to the bottom to be paid. Extra wilds might also drop down to help you with regular wins.

There are 3 animals hanging out around the waterfall grid, and these can become active at random times to provide the following modifiers:

• Crocodile - swims to the bottom of the waterfall and removes a symbol from a row that contains a coin. This will drop all symbols, including the coin, 1 step down.
• Bird - flies across the grid and changes all symbols in a random row into matching symbols. This guarantees a cluster win, and triggers a cascade accordingly.
• Monkey - removes all banana symbols from the grid, awarding a cash prize, while also triggering a cascade.

The Bonus Round is triggered when you land at least 3 rainbow-color gemstone scatters anywhere in sight.

The multiplier will apply to both regular cluster payouts, as well as the coin wins. You can retrigger the feature by landing +3 scatters on a free spin, and this awards the same amount of extra spins as described above.

Review Summary

The idea behind Jungle Falls is not bad at all, but there is something off about the execution. For starters, the pace of the game is a bit awkward (even with the turbo switched on), and the visual presentation looks cheap and outdated like an old 90s computer game. However, keep in mind that this release comes from Inspired’s Bell-Fruit Games studio, which has focused solely on physical fruit slots until now.

The base game modifiers are mostly geared towards landing you coin wins, at least the bonus trail modifiers, while the animal features can be helpful in prolonging cascading sequences once in a while. The progressive win multiplier takes everything to a new level in the bonus round, but the below-average 95.18 % RTP, and the overall mediocre vibe, will probably do little to catapult Jungle Falls up the charts.
